Here I will detail how to bead bezel a cabochon with Superduo and O-Beads. It will mainly be via detailed photos. This was used in “Labradorite Necklace (CH0346)” (from the “Labradorite & Friends” collection). This technique was also used, in large part, in the “Transparent Deco – Round Necklace (CH0337)“).
The main ingredients are as per pictured here.
String beads as shown. It should sit on top of the cab (viz. smaller than the cab’s circumference).
Thread through the beads, going around twice.
Thread through the beads, going around twice.
Start 2nd row as shown. Continue in this same sequence.
Complete 2nd row. Exit from center seedbead.
The third row will form the base of the upcoming peyote stitch. Here I am picking up 7 seed beads between each center bead. (As long as you end up with an even number of beads, including the center bead from the previous row.)
Remember: when we bead bezel a cab with peyote stitch, we need to have an even number of beads.
Remember: when we bead bezel a cab with peyote stitch, we need to have an even number of beads.
Complete row 3, ending with the requisite even number of stitches.
Then put the cab in. It will feel pretty snug. That is ok.
Then just peyote stitch around, as many rows as will hold the cab. Tighten with smaller seed beads (15/0). (Just like in the standard cabochon bead bezel.)
And that’s it! The finished cabochon – bead bezel with superduo and o beads.

Apologies: I learnt the basic technique of this on YouTube. I have search and search but cannot find the source. This technique here, while it relies on what I remember of the basic technique, has been adapted to suit my purposes.
