How to Make the beaded Natures Light crochet gloves

Gloves are worked in the round so that it is seamless.

This pair of gloves is made with medium-fine viscose yarn that has a some stretchiness to it. The crystal beads (4mm) definitely give this piece more body and solid charm and sparkle.

For this set of gloves, you need to pre-determine the number of stiches needed. Here I have 51 stitches for the body of the gloves, worked with Clover crochet hook, size 0 (apprx. 2mm).

Next, you determine number of beads needed and then you string the beads, from top to bottom (as the work will be done from bottom to top. The “bottom” refers to edge towards fingers).

Note: You only need to do this if you have a pattern using different coloured beads.

The last row of beads threaded here are the pearly green (Ceylon) seed beads. I strung an additional 25 beads, rather than just the body’s 51 stitches. Hence string (51+25) beads to create the flare at the bottom that I want.

Start the crochet from bottom to top.

Foundation row: chain stitch all the (51+25 = 76) beads. Join into a round, making sure that there is no twisting.

R1: The rough drawing here shows the stitch for the first row. This will decrease the number of stitches from 76 to 51 stitches.

Thereafter work 51 stitches per round, throughout.

The stretchy viscose yarn used here is excellent for making gloves. Because of its slight stretch, when worn, the gloves perfectly hug the hands, producing a deliciously sexy and professional look. And it retains its stretchiness.
