Lily Gloves is a pair of cheery, warm fingerless gloves offering comfort, warmth, brightness, and support to cold fingers and hands on a chilly day. It’s colours are aimed to please and brighten. Its cushy denseness provides warmth and support for busy hands. It’s fingerless-ness is designed for practicality.
Fingerless gloves are the in thing. Not only do they look great. They free your fingers so that you can carry on with your normal activities while keeping your entire hands warm and cosy.
Personal Notes on Lily Gloves
Lily Gloves is so named as I am employing some of the techniques from Lily Chin’s DVD: “Mosaic Crochet with Lily Chin“, [on Amazon]. However as I wrote in What is Mosaic Crochet, I don’t really feel that what she thought is what I think Mosaic Crochet really is. Nonetheless, her techniques were very interesting and useful. So I deployed some of that learning here.
It creates a fully reversible fabric. The fabric is dense and cushy without being rigid or inflexible. Quite a perfect fabric for making sturdy, warm, cushy gloves for winter!
I have no pattern or graph to share this time. It was worked off the cuff. But some short notes that may help:
- 2.5mm hook
- start with 32 foundationless sc
- inc 7 st for thumbs => 46st in the round
- 30R after thumb (Thumb also worked in the round)
