Stitch - which to use for Mochila Wayuu bags?

Which stitch to use for Mochila Wayuu bags? Here is a listing and comparison of possible stitches.

The real Mochila Wayuu bags are crocheted bags, handmade by native tribe Wayuu. They come from the the northern peninsula of South America.

Here, please note that I am only talking about Mochila Wayuu lookalike bags. For ease, henceforth, I shall refer to them only as MW bags whenever possible.
Which stitch to use for MW bags?

Modified Single Crochet Stitch

This modified crochet stitch seems to be the most common stitch used in Tapestry Crochet and in MW bags.

However this is not my favourite stitch for MW bags because it is not as firm or as dense as the stitches below.

However this stitch produces the straightest vertical line (as illustrated by the beads). Hence the Modified Single Crochet is best for graphed work as in tapestry crochet.

See How To: Modified Crochet Stitch for detailed steps.

Waistcoat Stitch or Knit Single Crochet Stitch (ksc)

One of my preferred stitches for MW bags.

I have used this Wasitcoat Stitch in the following examples.

The ksc/waistcoat stitch produces a dense and strong fabric. It also looks a lot like stockinette knitted stitch.

Modified Shallow Single Crochet Stitch

This is my secondary main stitch for use in tapestry crochet. The resultant fabric is dense and strong. Each row is shorter than the modified sc stitch. However stitches do vertically slant to the left.

Shallow SINGLE Crochet

This stitch can also be used for MW bags.
This is also a modified sc stitch.

(The photo-instructions was taken from a UK crochet book; hence the original UK crochet terms. I prefer the American crochet terms and hence have modified the picutre accordingly.)
